OmniFactory In Georgia Goes 70% Off-Grid With Solar Energy

We are thrilled to announce that our manufacturing site, OmniFactory in Georgia, switched 70% of its electricity consumption on a renewable energy source.
A carbon dioxide footprint left by manufacturing sites is a serious contributor to global warming and climate change. In fact, 20% of carbon emissions go from production sector as manufacturers consume almost 54% of the world’s energy resources. An average manufacturing site spends 95.1 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity and 536,500 Btu of natural gas per square foot each year.
With 2,800 square meters of production facilities capable of manufacturing more than 800 modules per month, we couldn’t ignore the fact that OmniFactory requires a sustainable solution that helps to keep our planet a cool place to live in all senses. That’s why we purchased 1,000 solar panels and installed them at our Georgian OmniFactory to complete an ambitious goal: to make the production site work totally off-grid.
The solar panels have a power capacity of 605kW of direct current (DC) and 500 kW of alternating current (AC) which guarantees production 850MWh of energy for the first year. Such a capacity means that the OmniFactory will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 340 tonnes within the first year and 4,800 tonnes within the next 30 years of the solar panels life-cycle.
We understand that a genuinely green logistics is possible only when every single element of the supply chain is fully sustainable. Omnic offers eco-friendly solutions for last mile delivery and services automation, so using the power of generous Georgian sun for our manufacturing facility is one more action we took to stand up to our cause.
